The Hope Soccer Day Camp is for boys and girls between the ages of 7-12, and is for players of all ability and experience levels who are looking for an intentionally positive, fun, and competitive camp environment that stresses individual skills, basic team concepts, and the Hope Soccer emphasis on positive character development.
Campers are grouped by age, and the camp is staffed by the Hope Men’s and Women’s Soccer coaching staffs and players, as well as area high school and college coaches who fit the Hope Soccer philosophy.
Specific emphases on fun, competition, actual teaching and learning, and our intentional positive character and team building dynamic set this camp apart, and is a combination of 4 things that doesn’t exist in any other area sports camp.
Campers are placed in 2-3 general age brackets, and staff are chosen on the basis of their ability to teach, model, and demonstrate all 4 of our camp emphases, from skill instruction, to enabling a fun and positive competitive environment, to our emphasis on team building and character development in each player.
Campers register either as goalkeepers or field players. We provide specific goalkeeper instruction from qualified coaches to our campers who do choose the GK’er option.
Campers pack/bring their own lunch daily and we all eat together at Hope’s beautiful Van Andel Soccer Stadium. Lunch is followed daily by a quality teaching demo from Hope’s coaching staff and players, as well as an age-appropriate character and team building talks by the Hope College Soccer coaches.
