The only camp of its kind in the area, Hope Men’s High School Soccer Prep Camp is a camp with an intentional emphasis on readying the high school player for his upcoming season. Skill sharpening, concentration, and mental strength/readiness are the specific emphases in this camp, which will also emphasize and teach strong team and leadership values. This camp will be an absolutely invaluable experience for the high school player looking to come in to tryouts and preseason as ready as he can be.
Our Hope College goalkeeper program is also available for camp. Goalkeepers will train separately from field players throughout the week, but take part in small sided as well as full sided play. The program is designed to challenge and develop individual skill throughout each training session and tactical knowledge during the games.
Camp Director and Hope Head Men’s Soccer Coach Dave Brandt is one of the most highly accomplished men’s college coaches of all time. His collegiate head coach experience includes six national championships and eight final fours over twelve years at Division III Messiah and seven years at the Division I Naval Academy from 2009-2016. Navy’s 2013 squad went 16-4-2 and earned the program’s first NCAA playoff win in 42 years. Brandt also has two years of experience as a professional coach at the USL Pittsburgh Riverhounds from 2016-17. His first season at Hope was also a success with a 14-3-1 overall record after 3 straight sub .500 seasons. Brandt is involved in every facet of the camp, and will be coaching and teaching on the field every day along with his broader camp staff and players.
The setting for the Hope Women’s Residential Camp is the campus of the Hope College, located in Holland, Michigan. Sessions will utilize the 1200 seat, lighted, turfed, soccer specific Van Andel Soccer Stadium. All campers will reside in one of the residence halls normally occupied by undergraduate students of the College. Meals will be served in one of the Dining Halls on campus.
